Brand Ambassadoor Blog Header - Jennifer

At LARSON, we believe in the sanctity of home. We are recognized for door, window and screen products that transform ordinary openings into extraordinary places. Don't take our word for it, meet our Brand Ambassadoor, Jennifer from Nebraska.

Twenty-eight years ago, my husband and I decided to start a full-time remodeling/construction company. Thirteen years into our adventure, we took on our most endearing project, we purchased a 1900's farmhouse on sixteen acres of wooded, beautiful land. We spent 2008 adding on an addition and renovating the inside. Our vision was to keep the character of the original structure, while adding our personal style that reflected our family. I am definitely a rustic/modern kind of chick. The farmhouse has continued to be a labor of love and projects have continued on over the years, as my husband does projects all week long for our fantastic customers, our home is a constant "honey do list". Fast forward to April 2021, a definite on that list was our back exterior door. The interior door is a beautiful oak door with oval glass and ornate hand carvings that was original to the farmhouse. The exterior storm door was not. Unfortunately, the old storm door was not the best quality, or the most aesthetically pleasing to look at. Needless to say, it needed to go.

We knew that on the "honey do list", the storm door was fast in making itself a priority. A nice cool breeze is perfect in many scenarios, not so perfect in your entryway, in 10-degree weather. The antique interior door is not energy efficient by any means, and the old storm door offered little protection in keeping out the elements. Snow and frost belong on the outside of the door, not the inside. As much as we knew we needed to replace the storm door, we prioritized a few other projects.

Finally, time to replace the inefficient, dated, and dilapidated storm door. I am fully aware of what even small, construction projects can entail and prepared myself for the chaos. Dreading the tear out, the odds of a 100+ year old structure not being square, and all of the little hiccups during the process, we proceeded. Removing the old storm door was fairly uneventful. Then came the installation of the new

LARSON storm door!

The most challenging part of the process of purchasing and installing a LARSON storm door was choosing which beautiful door and handle to install. We wanted a door that would accentuate our farm in a way that fit our style. I cannot express how simple and efficient the installation process was. My husband, not looking forward to more weekend work, was amazed that the process was so easy and effortless. I believe his comment was, "If all of my jobs could be this efficient!". The storm door has a beautiful matte black finish, a modern handle to accentuate it, is exceptionally energy efficient, and provides a three-point locking system for safety. There is no longer a breeze coming through our entryway unless we slide the glass down and expose the screen in the door. The curb appeal and energy efficiency that the door has provided is nothing less than outstanding.

We are very pleased with every aspect of our new LARSON storm door. From the creative and innovative packaging, the ease of installation, the safety features, and the beauty the door adds to our home, I will always choose LARSON doors for our home.
